VPN (Virtual Private Network)
UB uses VPNs to provide secure access to a restricted network from another network. The VPN you must use depends on your location and reason for using it.
Choose the VPN I Need
For Non-Administrative Connections to UB Services
- Off Campus: Use the VPN client anyConnect by Cisco [Win] [Mac] [Linux] when connecting from an Internet Service Provider (ISP) network, such as Time Warner or Verizon, when a UB service expects you to have a UB IP (Internet Protocol) address. This product does not work with administrative systems at UB.
- On Campus: Use the UB_Secure wireless network instead of a VPN client. UB_Secure encrypts all network traffic from your device to UB, including your login and transmitted data.
For Administrative Connection to HUB
Use UB’s secure two-factor authentication if you are pre-approved to have administrative access to HUB (formerly UBSIS).
Admin VPN encrypts network traffic to the HUB from on campus and network traffic destined for UB networks from off campus.
