Wireless Access: UB_Secure

Create a Windows XP profile for UB_Secure

Note: It's tempting to click on UB_Secure in your found network list and then create a profile, but this has not been successful for most people.

  1. Select Start, then Control Panel. Double-click Network Connections and then double-click the Wireless Network icon. Click Properties. Select the Wireless Networks tab. Click Add.
  2. Select the Association tab. Enter the case-sensitive Network name UB_Secure. In the Wireless network key section select WPA2 for Network Athentication and AES for Data encryption.
  3. Select the Authentication tab. Select PEAP and do not select either Authenticate as computer when computer information is available or Authenticate as guest when user or computer information is unavailable.
  4. Click Properties. Select Validate server certificate, select the authentication method Secured password and select Enable Fast Reconnect. Leave Roaming identity and Domain blank if they are in your setup.
  5. Click Configure. Deselect Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any). Click OK.

  6. On the Connection tab, if desired, select Connect when this network is in range.
  7. Save the profile by clicking OK.
  8. Click OK. Click OK. Click Close.
