Wireless access: UB_Secure
Create a Windows Vista profile for UB_Secure
Note: If your wireless manager is not the Windows manager, your configuration will vary.
Hint: It's tempting to click on UB_Secure in your found network list then create a profile, but this has not been successful for most people.
- Select Start, Network, then Network and Sharing Center. Select Manage Wireless Networks.
- If UB_Wireless is displayed, remove it so you do not automatically connect to this network. (You can add it back later.)
- Select Manually Create a Network Profile in the popup window.
- Enter UB_Secure in the Network name field. Select WPA2-Enterprise in the Security type field. Enter AES in the Encryption type field. Leave the Security Key/Passphrase field blank. Deselect Start this connection Automatically. You can
return after completing the setup to activate this setting. Selecting the option now interferes with the setup.
Click Next.

- Select Change Connection Settings.
- Select the Security tab. Select Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP) in the network authentication method field. Click Settings.

- Select Validate server certificate. Select Secured Password (EAP_MSCHAP v2), make sure Enable Fast Reconnect is not selected, and click Configure.

- Deselect Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any). Click OK. Click OK. Click OK.

- Select Connect To and double-click UB_Secure. On the first login attempt
select Enter/Select additional log in information.
- Use your UBITName and Password to log into all subsequent prompts.
Manage your profile
If you change your UBITName or your UBIT password, you must delete and re-create your profile.
