UB Wireless
UB_Wireless is a non-secure choice for access to the campus network; UB_Secure is recommended.
No explicit device configuration is required for this level of security. When you browse or connect to a location, you will be required to authenticate with your UBITName and password.
UBVPN
For greater security and to enable connection to some restricted resources, we recommend connecting to UB Virtual Private Network (UBVPN) after you connect to UB_Wireless. With UBVPN, your login is encrypted and your data is sent over the non-secure network through a secure tunnel.
UBVPN requires a client for your operating system:
- Windows XP/Vista (32 bit)UBVPN download and use
- Mac OS X UBVPN download and use
- Linux UBVPN download and use
Policies
You must maintain the operating systems of your devices, install, continuously run and regularly update antivirus software.
Your privilege of network access requires that you comply with institutional and external standards for appropriate use.
