Use the settings to connect with your email client via the UB network.

Incoming (IMAP) imap.buffalo.edu
Incoming (POP) pop.buffalo.edu
Outgoing (SMTP) smtp.buffalo.edu
Directory (LDAP) ldap.buffalo.edu
Search Base/Root:
o=University at Buffalo,c=us

Off campus

Use these settings to connect with your email client from home or while travelling.

Incoming (IMAP) server: imap.buffalo.edu
port: 993
client setting: SSL
Outgoing (SMTP)

server: smtp.buffalo.edu
port: 25
client setting: TLS plain text authentication

OR

server: smtp.buffalo.edu
port: 465
client setting: SSL
Directory (LDAP) ldap.buffalo.edu
Search Base/Root:
o=University at Buffalo,c=us

Errors when trying to send email

You can use most email programs to access your UB email from off campus. You must configure your email program to send email from off campus. If you do not, you may see the following error message:

550 That domain isn't in my list of rcpt hosts

Use the off campus email settings if you see this message.
