Use your UBITName and password to verify your identity (authenticate) to read, send, and manage your UB email.
Available choices for reading email
- As of fall 2009, most new students at UB use UBmail powered by Google.
- Continuing students and new Medical, Dental and Pharmacy students choose a client.
- Faculty and staff consult with their departments about selecting an email client.
- UB Alumni have options for continuing their UB connection.
What are my responsibilities?
- New to UB?
- Change your initial password to a secure one. A secure password is important, it protects your UB email.
- Not using UBmail powered by Google? Activate your mailbox.
- Be wise about your email practices:
- Do not reply to phishing messages. UB will never ask you for your password in an email.
- Do not open attachments from unknown senders.
- Expect to receive key communications from UB at your @buffalo email address.
- Manage your quota for un-interrupted email service.
- Be aware of email policies.
