UBITName Deactivation

Why did I receive a deactivation notice?

You have a 10-month appointment

You must request an extension of your account through your department. In order for your UBITName to remain active, contact an administrative staff member in your department.

The administrative staff member must communicate the following to CIT:

  1. Your name
  2. Confirmation of intent to hire you as an instructor
  3. Your UBITName

The administrative staff member can send this information to us:

  • via email to cit-accounts@buffalo.edu from either his or her UBITName@buffalo.edu or departmental email address, or
  • FAX the information on departmental letterhead to (716) 645-3617

The email or FAX must come from the departmental administrative staff member.

Deactivation notices are sent automatically when you are no longer affiliated with the University at Buffalo.

Confirming your affiliation

CIT does not determine affiliation. To confirm your affiliation status:

Changes made by the Student Response Center or Human Services take at least one day to be transmitted to CIT.

If you believe you received the notice in error and you can not find yourself in the list above, please contact the CIT Help Desk (645-3542).

When your UBITName is deactivated you will no longer be able to use your account.

The UBITName policy has a more detailed description of services and conditions.
