UBITName account claim process
About the account claim process
All faculty, staff and students must claim their UBITName to gain access to UB IT services.
You need four identity credentials to claim your UBITName account:
- your UBITName user name (you can find it online)
- your single-use password
- the month of your birth
- the last four digits of your person number

Returning to UB?
If you're returning to UB, your old account will be reactivated. You can use your account immediately if you remember your password. Contact the CIT Help Desk for assistance if you don't remember your password.
How to claim your account
- Start by clicking the Claim my account button above
- Enter your four identity credentials
- Accept the network use policy
- Provide three self-service password reset question answers from the top section and create a question and answer of your own (make sure you check the box next to it)
- Provide a strong password

Your UBITName account gives you access to important UB IT services including email, MyUB, UBlearns, and more.

This process implements strong identity verification and management controls to protect your data and identity and complies with federal regulatory policies.
