What is a UBITName
Your UBITName is your University at Buffalo Information Technology userName.
When do I get my UBITName
- Undergraduate student applicant UBITNames are created after you apply to UB
- Graduate and transfer student UBITNames are created after your deposit is processed
- Faculty and staff UBITNames are created after appointment paperwork has been processed by UB Human Resources. You can check the status of your UBITName in the online directory.
What are some services I access with my UBITName
- Central email and UBmail powered by Google
- Your personal web page
- Internet connectivity
- Residence hall or campus apartment
- Wireless access
- Public site/Cybrary computers on all campuses
- MyUB (including access to HUB)
- UBlearns
Claim my account
All faculty, staff and students must claim their UBITName to gain access to UB IT services. Undergraduate applicants should claim their account on the Undergraduate applicant claim page.
You need four identity credentials to claim your UBITName account:
- Your UBITName (you can find it online)
- Your single-use password
- The month of your birth
- The last four digits of your person number
