Your UBIT Account, UBITName, is your key to IT services at UB. Make your password strong and keep it secure.
- What email do I use?
- New to UB beginning fall 2009? Your email is UBmail powered by Google.
- Returning to UB or in the Schools of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences or Dental Medicine? Use your favorite email client or UBmail to access your email.
- How do I update my online directory information?
UB network and Internet access
Connect your computer to the network from on or off campus, from your residence hall room or apartment, or with a wireless connection. Create a personal web page. Connect to resources using secure FTP or telnet.
Software for my personal computer
Check to make sure you have the latest antivirus software. Update your Microsoft Office software for your Windows or Mac computer to the latest version.
MyUB
MyUB is your one-stop online destination for all things UB: university deadlines, administrative offices, course schedules and more.
My classes
Find many of your courses in UBlearns, an online course tool. Find your course schedule at MyUB. Manage your classroom response device (clicker). How do I get to my class materials on iTunes U? Watch selected videos on your desktop.
Computing labs and classrooms
Work in public computing sites to complement your personal computing resources. Use a variety of software in computing sites and classrooms.
Notices and alerts
Look for news about IT services and watch for alerts about planned and unplanned service outages.
File storage
Store your files securely on UB's file system (UBfs) and access them from wherever you are.
Printing
Use iprint in public computing sites. A printing allocation each semester meets most students' printing needs. Try printing from your laptop to a convenient computing site with iprint anywhere.
Security

Help and Instruction
Get IT help from the CIT Help Desk. Get my computer repaired. Find a workshop to build my skills. Look up special IT expressions at UB.
Computer hardware & software
UB recommends computing hardware for students. Visit UBMicro, the computer store, for equipment and ask about special software opportunities for students.
