X-Win32
X-Win32 is an X terminal application which allows PC users to connect their Windows-based computer to a Linux or UNIX server, such as ubunix.buffalo.edu. It allows X application programs located on other computers on the local area network to connect to your computer, and will use your computer to display the results.
You must have an active computer account on a system running UNIX/Linux to use X-Win32.
Important Installation Notes
- Enter The University at Buffalo for the Organization
- Choose Complete install
- Make sure that Install UB Customizations is selected at the end of the install process before clicking Customize
- For X-Win32 2012, launch X-Win32 immediately after installing. You will receive an error and then be prompted for a product key. The key will have opened in a window on your computer. Copy it into the key field.
- When you first launch X-Win32, you may be prompted to upgrade the software and may safely do so.
