Scheduling Scans and Automatic Updates for Symantec AntiVirus
- Double-click your hard disk, select Applications, then Symantec Solutions.
- Double-click Symantec Scheduler.
- To create a new scheduled scan or product update check, click New. Select AntiVirus Scan to set a time and day of week to schedule automatic anti-virus scans, or Product Update to set a time and day of week for automatic searches for product updates.
To scan the entire Hard Disk, click Browse, then choose your computer's name as the scan target in the pull-down menu at the top and select Macintosh HD. Click Select. - To adjust an existing scheduled scan or product update check, select My AntiVirus Scan Task to adjust the time or day of week for automatic anti-virus scans, or select My Product Update Task to adjust the time or day of week for automatic searches for product updates. Make sure the checkmark remains. Click Edit.
- Choose how frequently to run a My Product Update Task or an AntiVirus Scan Task from the Frequency pull-down menu. Select a time and day of week. Click Save.
